Details
WORLINGWORTH STANWAY GREEN TM 27 SW 2/137 Ivy House (formerly 29.7.55 listed as Boundary Farmhouse) - II Former farmhouse. Late C16; C17 service wing to rear, almost entirely rebuilt mid C20. Timber framed and plastered with a pantiled roof. 2 storeys and attic. 3-cell form. 2 windows, C19 3-light mullioned casements with small panes; wooden hoodmoulds. Various ovolo-muillioned windows, mostly original, some mid C20 replacements. In cross-entry position is a C19 doorway with pilasters and the lower part of an entablature, now altered; panelled reveals; 5-panel door and rectangular overlight. A particularly good interior with almost all of the structure exposed. Intact studding with reverse-curved braces. Service partition has 2 4-centre arched doorways and original doors. Hall has closely-spaced chamfered joists and a good open fireplace with original lintol. Attic floor has plain joists set flat. 4-centre arched brick fireplace in parlour chamber. Good roof: one row of clasped purlins and a ridge piece; 2-way arched wind bracing. Original newel stairs (both flights).
