GV II

Shop and workshop, residential accommodation now used for storage. One bay of c.1540 range to right, C18 work to left and C19 infilling between. Mainly timber framed and roughcast-rendered. Plaintiled roof, the later work pantiled to the rear. C16 work 2 storeys and attic, with jettied upper floor. Remainder 1 1/2 storeys. Lower part has full-width projecting shopfront: late C19 sashed bay to right, 3 older 6-paned windows to left. Half-glazed 4- panel door to shop, boarded half-door to workshop, both inset. One raking dormer with 4-paned sash window. C16 section has 6-paned sash window to each floor. Interior. Little altered since C19. Workshop has C18 glazed office partition with original door. Gable end of C18 section has pargetted plasterwork. C16 section is part of former inn, galleried at rear and with a queen-post roof. For remainder of former inn see Items 6/71 and 6/100.
