Details
STOKE ASH HUGGINS LANE TM 17 SW 1/82 Barn 20m. north north- - east of Hill Farmhouse
GV II Barn. C17, in 2 phases. Timber framed, part weatherboarded, part daub, all tarred. Roof clad in corrugated iron. Pantiled weatherboarded lean-to along east side. Interior. 5-bay frame. The original structure comprises the 3 wider bays to the east, with a central cart entrance on the north side. Both phases have largely intact studding, the earlier part with a mid rail, the later end with heavy primary braces. Both gable ends have arched corner braces set against the outside of the studs. Most of the tie beam braces have been replaced by knees. Roof over earlier part has 2 rows of diminished butt purlins, over the later end clasped and stepped butt purlins. Brick threshing floor.
