2/2 Anchor House -

GV II

House, at one time a public house. Mid C17. Timber framed with pebbledash render to the facade and the right hand gable end, the remainder faced or rebuilt in C19 red brick. Thatched roof. 2 storeys and attic. 3 cell form. 3 windows, various 3-light mullion and transom casements. Internal stack. Boarded entrance door at rear. Attached to the left is a single storey range of former stables, also thatched. Interior with some exposed framing and joists; one ground floor room has a floor beam with ovolo-moulding and double stop-chamfers. Newel stairs; good original roof structure with arched wind- bracing.
