Probably built soon after 1790 with early and mid C19 alterations. This was
built as the Dower House of the Eridge Estate. Two storeys rendered with
incised lines to initiate masonry on a base of Tunbridge Wells stone.
Hipped slate roof. Nine sash windows in all. Central projecting pediment with
Abergavenny Crest and acorn finials. The centre part has two curved bays of
three lights on the ground floor and central tuscar portico. The ends have
two windows each with head mouldings to ground floor windows. Two storey L-wing
to rear of mid C19 appearance. Brick with stone dressings. Five windows and
splayed entrance porch having round-headed arch. Interior has semi-circular
stone staircase with slender turned balusters and plain handrail. The Music
Room has a deep Acanthus leaf cornice, the Drawing Room a dentil cornice and
the Dining Room has an early C19 fireplace with reeded surround and paterae.
