1. 5401 HIGH STREET (West Side)

2. Late C18 front to earlier house; some grey headers. Tile-hung gable, Pitched tile roof. Overhanging eaves masked by moulded brick cornice, 2 storeys and jjable at north end. 3 ranges of double-hung'sashes with glazing bars on 1st floor and 1 gable. Ground floor has 2 canted bays with double hung sash windows with glazing bars: iron grille to cellar below south bay. One 6-panelled door with semi-circular fanlight, set in plain reveal of 2 semi-circular concentric brick arches, and with 3 ashlar steps up. C19 red brick extension to west. Pitched tile roof wih overhanging eaves. Elaborately corniced red brick chimneys. 2 storeys. 3 window range of casements with diagonal iron glazing bars, 2 of which have hipped gables over.

Nos 69 & 71 form a group with Nos 2 to lO (even) Maltravers Street and with the raised pavements on the North Sideof Maltravers Street.
