Details
STOUGHTON STANSTED SU 71 SE 6/294 Lumley Seat, Stansted Park - - II
Originally a temple or landmark built about 1770. This is the portion facing the park. It has six columns of which the four centre ones form a projecting portico with pediment over and niches with semi-domes behind the columns. Stuccoed. Behind this originally was a room in Adam style with dome over. This was burned down in 1940. Behind this again were two cottages, which have been converted into a single L-shaped house. Red brick and stucco. Slate roof.
