WEST WITTERING ROOKWOOD ROAD SZ 79 NE 19/711 The Studio - - II

Early C20 building. One storey and attic. One window. Two dormers. Red brick. Steeply pitched hipped tiled roof with studio light on north east side. Sir Henry Royce of Rolls Royce (1863-1933) used this studio from 1917 to his death in 1933 and made many of his inventions there. A bronze plaque with his profile on the south wall, which was unveiled on the 23 September 1979, records his association with the building. Included for historical associations.
