TQ 3024 NW CUCKFIELD SOUTH STREET (west side) 7/89 Animal drinking trough and drinking fountain at junction of South Street/ Ockenden Lane GV II Drinking trough. Late C19. Granite rectangular basin set on granite piers which incorporate 2 carriage curbing stones. On top of the trough is an ogee-headed drinking fountain mutilated at time of survey. Inscription on side of basin 'In memory of Capt C W Sergison, Scots Guards and Michael Delaval Sergison, erected by their sister Lady Clanusk'. Included for local historical interest.
