Terrace of 4 houses. 1846-8. Brick with buff headers and stucco dressings; slate roof with brick end stacks and cross-axial stack. Georgian style. 2 storeys; symmetrical 8-window range of 2 pairs of houses. Wide eaves soffit. 2 pairs of entrances have wide moulded doorcases with cornices, overlights with decorative glazing bars to 4-panel-over 3-flush-panel doors. Ground floor has canted bay windows with friezes and cornices over 4:16;4-pane sashes, but end bays with 4-pane sashes; windows to 1st floor have sills, and rusticated wedge lintels with keys over 16-pane sashes, 12-pane sashes over entrances; right end has later C19 1st floor canted bay window with 4-pane sashes. 2 catslide rear wings with lateral stacks. Part of the early C19 development of the south part of Stratford. (Information from Shakespeare Birthplace Trust Record Office).
