NZ 26 SW NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE RYE HILL (west side) 11/480 ll/4/73 Railings and Walls to south and east of Hospital of St. Mary the Virgin Almshouses. G.V. II Walls and railings. Circa 1858. Stone and cast iron. Low walls at South-East corner of garden have fleur-de-lys-headed railings. Along Eastern boundary similar walls hate massive piers with sloped copings, at intervals. Between these,tall rows of fleur-de-lys-headed railings interspersed with shorter ones having Gothic tracery between.
