ALLINGTON VILLAGE CENTRE SU 23 NW 4/17 Kea Cottage II
Cottage. C17. Timber framed, underbuilt in brick, and thatched roof. Single storey and attic, raised at front to 2 storeys. Three bays, with single storey brick extension to left with tiled roof. Entrance in left bay of original, building, a recessed door. Windows, C20, leaded, in timber frames. Centre window of upper floor has a small gable and 3 flush dormers at rear. Framing originally 3 panels high, raised by half panel at front. Queen strut trusses with clasped purlins, quarter-hipped to left. Stack between bays 2 and 3. Interior has inglenook fireplace to central bay, originally with 2 ovens. Chamfered spine beam with shaped stops and exposed joists. Timber framed partitions on first floor. Garage inserted in left bay and building extensively modernised in C20. (R.C.H.M. Survey)
