Memorial and Water Trough
on The Green
II
Memorial and water trough. 1902. Engineers Merryweather and Sons,
London. Limestone ashlar, pyramidal tiled roof with finial.
Rectangular. Stone plinth, granite water trough and inscription
panel to west side, bench to east side. To corners are paired C12
columns with chevron capitals from the site of Augustinian priory
at Ivychurch (q.v.). Chamfered cornice to deep eaves. Erected by
the parish to commemorate the coronation of Edward VII and in
appreciation of the Earl of Radnor of Longford Castle for providing
water supply.
