SHERSTON ALDERTON ROAD ST 8485-8585 (west side) 8/74 New Barn at Widley's Farmhouse 12.12.51 II
Barn. Dated 1749 on east gable end. Coursed rubble with flush rusticated dressed stone quoins, stone dressings and gabled stone slate roof. Cruciform in plan with north and south midstreys with hipped roofs. Dressed stone to midstrey jambs; 2-leaf plank gates. East and west end walls have round-headed openings which project from the wall surface by bolection-moulded architraves. Ventilation slits to all facades. C20 shelter shed extension to south front. Interior: butt-purlin, collar and tie-beam roof structure.
