Bank Building. 1880's. E. Salomons. Red brick, with stone
and granite ground floor. Three storeys and high parapet; one
bay to Castle Street, canted corner bay, and five bays to Dale
Street. Tuscan pilasters and dentilled cornice to ground
floor. First floor to Castle Street has double window in
brick architraves with Composite pilasters and swags on
frieze. 2nd floor is similar but with brick pediment. Deep
frieze at top with swags and wreaths, dentilled cornice, and
balustraded parapet. Canted angle has semicircular iron
balcony to first floor and tripartite window to each,
forming the base to a terminal with cut brick urn and
pediment. More restrained treatment to Dale Street with
tall rectangular window, those to 2nd floor with cornice and
roundels over. End bay recessed with windows similar to
corner.
