Details
SADDLEWORTH MILLCROFT LANE SD 90 NE (south side) 3/202 No. 1 Lower - Grange G.V. II House. Mid C17 with major alterations of the C18 which included changes to the front and an outshut addition at rear. Irregularly coursed watershot stone with graduated stone slate roof. 3 bays and 2 storeys with outshut to rear. Quoins. Bays 1 and 2 have 5 and 6-light recessed flat-faced stone mullion ground floor windows and similar 3 and 7-light windows on the first floor. Bay 3 is of a later date and has a door adjacent to a 3-light double-chamfered mullion window and a 5-light flat-faced mullion first floor window. Projecting gable chimney stack and a ridge chimney stack. 2 and 3-light double-chamfered mullion windows to rear and 1 and 2-light recessed flat-faced mullion windows. The later outshut conceals an arched light.
