7/47 Lychgate at church of St. Mary

G.V. II

Lychgate. Probably c.1875 by J. M. and H. Taylor. Timber- frame on stone dwarf walls with slate roof. Posts rise from and are braced to the sole plates and are in turn braced to tie-beam roof trusses in each gable. The eaves and verges overhang. Timber gates with cast-iron hinges. Included for group value.
