- II
House, late C16 or C17, converted to cottage in mid C18. Timber framed and rendered; steeply pitched roof of thatch. Central brick stack of C18. Two bays of substantial timber framing surviving to wall plate; jowled posts some bracing; cambered tie beam to north gable end wall; sole plate on brick plinth. The southmost bay extended by about one metre in slighter timber framing; inserted floors to both bays, with spine beam to north bay, and lateral joists of substantial proportions to south. Clasped purlin roof of rough hewn scantling and some earlier timbers. C18 or C19 lean-to to north gable end; gabled, single-storey bathroom extension with pantile roof to southeast comer, C20 date.
