Memorial (formerly listed
under The Sanctuary)

G.V. II

Memorial, 1859-61 by Sir George Gilbert Scott. Polished red granite column
with Portland stone base dressing and sculpture. High Victorian Gothic.
The column rises from a base with 4 lions and has a shaft-ring from which
hang shields, a large Gothic capital surmounted by a lattern-cross and,
over all, a statue of St. George and the dragon. Erected in memory of the
fallen of Westminster School.
