GV II* One of two terraces leading from the centre of Pelham Crescent, 1833, by George Basevi. Forms part of Pelham Crescent layout.

MATERIAL: Stuccoed brick

EXTERIOR: A terrace of houses, curved towards its northern end, each house of three storeys and two windows with continuous balustraded parapet, modillion cornice and second-floor band course. Stucco channelled on ground floor. Ground- and second-floor windows are six-over-six pane sashes; elongated first-floor windows are casements with small ironwork balconies. Doorways are raised up short flights of stone steps and have scrolled side brackets semi-circular fanlights. No. 29 has two-storey canted bay window and Doric pilasters to upper storeys.

REASONS FOR DESIGNATION: Nos. 1-29 Pelham Place are listed for the following principal reasons: * Architectural interest: a good example of an early-C19 stuccoed terrace; * Planning interest: part of the important Pelham Crescent layout; * Group value: with the other contemporary houses in Pelham Place and Pelham Crescent.
