The Royal Mint

Circa 1811. Architect James Johnson with later alterations by Sir Robert Smirke. Stone with rusticated ground floor. Stone stacks and slate roof. Three storeys. Centre five5bays have Doric order through first and second floors with engaged columns under pediment. Royal Arms in tympanum. End three bays with flat pilasters. Over all, Doric entablature and balustraded parapet.
