2. Circa 1575, probably built in time for Queen Elizabeth's visit in 1576. Archway C15. Red brick. 3 sided courtyard, 2 storeys high with attics, turrets in the 2 internal angles and with the open side towards Osterley House. RCHM p74, Country Life, LX p782.

Osterley House, the Stables, the Temple, and the Aviary form a group, with the "Roman Bridge" which is in the grounds to the North in the borough of Ealing.
