CHURCH HILL 1. 5018 (East Side) HAREFIELD Almshouses TQ 0589 6/63 8.5.50. II* 2. C16 H-shaped range of buildings in red brick with 1st floor band. High pitched tiled roofs have a gable on each inner face of front courtyard and in centre of outer faces of side wings. 4 stacks of paired or tripled diagonal brick chimneys, largely rebuilt. 2- 3- and 4-light leaded casements, some of old iron, some modern; and there are brick hoodmoulds over some. Ground floor windows in outer wings blocked. Central wide plank door under segmental brick arch. At 1st floor centre 3 square stone plaques, the middle one with coat of arms, each outer one with a wyvern within a garland. At back central door under Tudor arch of rubbed brick.
