2. Mid C18. Composition of 3 linked blocks, the 2 southern ones of 6 windows, the northern one of 8. 2 storeys and attic. Slightly set back 2-storey, one- window linking bays at either side of blocks. Tiled or slated mansard roofs with round-headed or flat dormers. Brown brick with cornice band and parapet. Gauged red brick arches to sash windows mostly with glazing bars. Northern block has rendered front. 6-panel doors (some altered) in Roman Doric doorcases with Triglyph frieze, dentil cornice and open pediment. Some patterned fanlights. Doorcase of No 187 is Ionic, No 195 has pediment on consoles to doorway. Nos 185A and 187A are formed from the links between the blocks. No 183 has had its left outer bay removed for road widening and the wall made good in flettons.
