2. Probably dating from 1437. The mediaeval church was built in 1666 and rebuilt on the original footings to the designs of Wren, the tower being retained and remodelled. Wren's church was burnt in World War II and the remains, including the mediaeval fabric of the tower, were subsequently removed to Fulton University in USA. The footings are of rubble and dressed stone and now form part of a public garden.
