G.V. II

Hall house. Early C16, C17, early C18, c.1980. Colourwashed render over red brick. Concrete tile roof. 2 large red brick ridge stacks. Originally H-plan hall house. 2 storeys, 4 bays. The outer single bays with garret, the central 2 bays with parapet. Doorway with C20 door. To the right are 2 four light C20 glazing bar casements and to the left a single similar casement. Above are 2 similar casements with 2 central similar 3 light casements. Garrets with single similar 2 light casements. Left side wall with doorway with early C18 panelled door, to the left is a single rendered brick 2 light mullion window. Interior has several good C17 chamfered beams with triangular run-out stops, several beams on the first floor boxed in with C18 roll moulding to cases. Early C17 bolection moulded fire surround. 2 fireplaces with bressummer beams. A number of doors with moulded panels and moulded architraves. C17 plank door with wooden bolt. Some C18 fielded panel doors with L hinges or H-L hinges. Remaining C17 moulded newel. Roof with 2 C16 king posts with curved braces.
