SK 99 SE GLENTHAM ERMINE STREET
Cromwell House 3/22 1.11.66 G.V. II
(Wrongly shown on O.S. map as Spital House). House, C17 with extensive late C18 and C19 alterations. Coursed limestone rubble with brick dressings, raised brick gables, 2 brick gable stacks, concrete tiled roof. 2 storeys with garret and cellars, 1st and 2nd floor cill bands, moulded brick eaves course, flush brick quoins. 4 bay front with slightly off centre C19 half-glazed door with plain fanlight and double stepped semi-circular headed brick surround. To the left are 2 plain sashes and to right one similar window. To the first floor are 4 further similar windows. All the windows have flat rubbed brick arches with raised keyblocks and brick reveals. The window over the door has reveals which continue irregularly below cill level suggesting an earlier phase. Listed for group value only.
