Parish church. C14, C15, C16, early C17, 1794, 1876-77 restoration by Bodley & Garner. Coursed limestone rubble, ashlar dressings, plain tiled and slate roofs having stone coped gables. Western tower, nave, chancel, south porch, north aisle, vestry. 2 stage C14 tower, plinth, chamfered string course, embattled parapet and single water chutes to north and south sides. West wall has a recut lancet window; belfry stage has paired ogee headed lights in chamfered surround to all sides. North aisle has a slate roof and a 2 light C19 window. North wall has 3 triple light windows with C16 flat heads and hood mould and 4 centred arches to lights. Vestry, originally a north chapel, has a door with a cambered head and single chamfered surround with hood mould. To left a single 2 light window similar to those in the north aisle. Vestry east wall has a C19 4 light window with ogee heads to the lights. The whole of the east end was rebuilt in the C19. The east wall of the chancel has 2 lancets and above a recessed quatrefoil light with moulded surround. Chancel south wall has a C19 lancet and a recut C14 3 light window with cusped ogee heads to the lights. The nave south wall has 2 C19 2 light windows with flowing tracery. South porch is C19 with 2 centred outer arch and side lights. C19 double chamfered south door without capitals. Interior. 3 bay C16 north arcade, octagonal pillars and responds, double chamfered arches with hood moulds. C14 tower arch, octagonal responds and capitals and single moulded and hollow chamfered head. At the east end of the north aisle is a double chamfered archway without capitals into the former north chapel. Double chamfered C16 chancel arch with octagonal responds and crude capitals. In the chancel north wall is a double chamfered C16 arch to the north chapel. Capitals match those of the chancel. Further east is an aumbry with central mullion and in the south wall a semi-circular headed piscina with rudimentary dogtooth decoration. Fittings are a carved C17 chest and a contemporary settle with carved back. All other fittings, including the font, are C19. Monuments. In the chancel north wall, 2 fine brass inscribed armorial wall plaques, one to Catherine Bolles d.1644, the other to Sir John Bolles d.1648. Glass in chancel dated 1887. The windows in the north aisle were rebuilt in 1877, and it is possible that they came from the demolished Scampton Manor House.
