HEIGHINGTON HIGH STREET TF 0270-0370 10/28 No 4 Arden House and attached railings 23.8.67 (formerly listed as Heighington House)

GV II

House. Easrly C18, altered early C19. coursed limestone rubble with ashlar dressings. Pantile roof with 2 red brick stacks and ashlar coped gables. Chamfered plinth, raised quoins first floor band, and moulded eaves. 2 storey plus attics. East front, 5 bay, central doorway with panel door and overlight with painted ashlar porch, with square Doric columns supporting a flat hood. Eitherside 2 glazing bar sashes in plain painted ashlar surrounds. Above 5 similar sashes also in plain painted ashlar surrounds. Above again 2 segment headed dormer windows with glazing bar sliding sashes. Attached to the front a low wall with ashlar coping and spear head railings with central gate.
