4/34 The Garages to Culverthorpe Hall (formerly listed as 23.ll.51 subsidiary building)
G.V. II*
Former service range, now garages. Late C17, altered C19 and C20. Built for the Newton family. Limestone ashlar and coursed limestone rubble. Collyweston slate roof having raised stone coped gables and single ridge and gable ashlar stack bases. T-plan. 2 storey irregular 7 bay front having central planked door in a moulded ashlar surround with to left 3 two light windows and a further planked door with moulded surround and to the right 2 two light windows and a further planked door in a plain ashlar surround. To first floor are 4 two light windows. All windows are leaded lattice casements with moulded surrounds, cavetto mullions and moulded cornices. To the rear is a projecting C19 gabled wing, and there are 3 sets of C20 garage doors. Interior retains 2 large chamfered segmental arched fireplaces and there is a clasped purlin softwood roof.
