Staircase flight of ten locks. Two groups of five locks, with a passing pound in between, and side pounds.1810-12, restored 1909. Brick with some stone. Top Lock has a single gate, followed by five chambers, all with double gates and footbridge. Beyond these, the passing pound, followed by a single gable and then five chambers descending, with double gates, the lower four chambers crossed by footbridges. Flight ends at Bottom Lock. Each chamber is brick lined and has an inset brick dated 1909. Grand Union Canal, engineered by Benjamin Bevan, completed in 1814.
