Stables, now offices and domestic quarters. 1704-5 by John Barker (of Rowsley). Coursed ironstone with limestone dressings. Roofs of graded Swithland slate. U-shaped building. 2 storeys and dormer attic. Main range in 9 bays, the centre 3 broken forward under a pediment. Central doorway. Fenestration of 2-light timber cross casements throughout, most retaining original or renewed leaded glass. Coved and plastered eaves cornice. Gable roof with 2 gabled dormers each side of central pediment, the gables amplified into little pediments. Dormer windows are 2-light casements. One small ridge stack at each end of roof. Subsidiary ranges similar but with multiple roof dormers. Interior is very plain and subdivided into offices and domestic accommodation. Bridging beams chamfered and with run-out stops.
