Edmondthorpe (south side) 7/160 Carriage store, workshop and adjoining loose box at Edmondthorpe Hall

Carriage store, workshop and adjoining loose box. 1869 and late C19. Designed by R. W. Johnson. Coursed and squared ironstone with limestone dressings and steep pitched Swithland slate roof. Coped gables and dormer with kneelers. North front, 2 storeys, 5 bays, has a central doorway with segmental head and a sliding door, flanked to left by 2 larger carriage entrances with segmental heads and pairs of close boarded doors. To the right, a 2 light casement with a wooden lintel and beyond, a close boarded door with a segmental head. Above a large central cross eaves dormer with the remains of a glazing bar sash with a. keystoned segmental head. To the left, a 2 bay loose box with a pair of doors in the centre flanked by low coped walls. At the rear, a single storey gabled wing with a segmental headed door to west and to south, 2 casements with chamfered surrounds.
