WESTCOTES DRIVE 1. 5304 Westcotes Maternity Hospital including the Lodge and Stables to the south SK 50 SE 17/352 east II 2. Circa 1888. Architect Teulon. Purple brick with blue brick bands and stone dressings. Slate roofs. Gothic style. Irregular plan and elevations. Two storeys and attic. Main east elevation overlooking terrace has large right-hand two-storeyed splayed bay with stone mullion/transom windows with four-centred arch lights and pyramidal roof. Central gothic window with tracery in gable with ball-finial and corbelled chimney to side, below is three-light four-centred arch window and four-centred arch door, to left gable with chimney stack rising through it. Long irregular north elevation. On the west a three-storey kitchen wing with bellcote with bell-shaped dome and ornate wind-vane. The Lodge, contemporary, by Teulon, built of purple brick with b1ue brick bands. Stone mullion windows. Slate roof with gable ends. Two storeys. L-shaped plan. Stone single-storey splayed bay to road. The stables, contemporary, purple brick with blue brick bands. Slate roof with gabled ends. One storey and attic. To rf.ght four-centred stone arch carriage-entrance with stone left doorway above in gable with ornate weathervane over. To left of carriage-entrance the ground floor is taken up by modern garage doors.
