8/4 Rigby House Farmhouse 13.7.1966 - II

Farmhouse, early Cl7, now house. Brick on stone plinth, with stone dressings, slate roof with one ridge chimney stack and one external chimney at right end. Two storeys. Three-bay baffle-entry plan; projecting crosswings and stair turret all gabled. Stair turret flush with gable of right wing. All windows in front have stone mullions, splayed reveals, and hoodmoulds: left gable, 3 lights at ground floor, 4 lights above; centre, a single light above door, and 3 lights on each floor to the right; stair turret has one of 2-lights, right wing has one 5-light ground floor window and a doorway (with glazed porch), with a 2- and a 4-light window above. Side walls have some similar windows including one of 5 lights at 1st floor of left side. At rear the wing to 3rd bay projects and has a single storey gabled porch in the angle; here all windows are altered. Interior: ¼ round moulded beams, inglenook with bressumer; spiral newel staircase.
