House, probably mid C18th with C17th remains. Slobbered limestone rubble
with sandstone dressings and slate roof. 3 storeys, 4 bays. Windows of
mid C18th type, with 2 lights, square mullions and slight chamfer to surround,
unless otherwise stated. Bay 2 has a canted stone bay window and bay 3 is
blank. Bay one has a rebated and chamfered door surround flanked by narrow
stone windows, with a 2-light square-mullioned window to the right, all
probably C2Oth copies. Chimneys on gables and between bays one and two. At
the rear is an outshut to part of the house having a door with plain stone
surround and both chamfered C18th windows and rebated and chamfered C17th
windows. The rear wall of the main house has, at its left-hand end, 3 2-
light rebated and chamfered mullioned stair windows at intermediate levels.
To the right of this is a tall later C18th stair window with plain reveals
and small panes, lighting a C17th stair. Interior. Middle room has C18th
built-in cupboards and stone fireplace with raised and fielded panels carved
on jambs, pulvinated frieze and cyma cornice. Dog-leg stair with lower flight
modern and 3 C17th flights with square newels and splat balusters.
