2/151 Barn north of Hoskin's Farmhouse - GV II

Farm building, the left-hand part originally a house and mid C17th, the remainder probably later C18th. Sandstone rubble with stone slate roof. 2 storeys. The former house was of end baffle-entry plan with a drip course over the ground-floor windows. The left-hand part of its facade collapsed c.1980 and was rebuilt without windows. To the right on the ground floor is a blocked 4-light mullioned window. Above is a similar window of 2 lights. At the right is a blocked doorway with moulded surround, triangular head, and lintel inscribed: '165? I:RW'. To the right is a barn whose wide entrance has a segmental arch and plain reveals. To left and right are doorways, now partly blocked and containing windows. The right-hand one has a chamfered surround. Above the left-hand one is a pitching hole with plain reveals. The left-hand gable wall of the former house has a blocked mullioned window, above which the drip course returns. To its left are external stone steps to a 1st floor doorway of C19th type.
