(Formerly listed as Spong tomb monument 15 yards to the south of Aylesford Church, CHURCH LANE (north side))

Tomb monument. Dated 1815. Stone. Wide plinth to pedestal, with moulded foot and cornice, carrying large coade stone urn. Inscribed to John and Rosamund Spong. Wrought-iron railed surround with urns on standards. John Spong was the model for Mr Wardle of Dingley Dell in Charles Dickens "The Pickwick Papers".
