Small house. Probably 1840s, apparently rebuilt or remodelled at the right end. C20 addition at the right end. Flemish bond brick; slate roof; brick stack.
Plan: adjoining No 182 (q.v.) at right angles, overlooking but set back from Riding Lane. Front block two rooms wide with a central entrance, possibly with a service wing or outshot at the rear (not inspected at time of survey, 1988). C20 addition at the right end. A straight joint in the brickwork to the right of the front door indicates rebuilding or extension.
Exterior: two storeys. Hipped roof. Symmetrical three bay front to the main range. C19 panelled front door in the centre with a gabled porch hood carried on shaped brackets; moulded C19 doorcase. C19 twelve-pane sash windows with rubbed brick flat arches. Ground floor window right was a square headed hoodmould with label stops all in moulded brick.
Interior: no inspected but may retain original joinery.
This house forms a pair with No 182.
