GV II
Former bank, now offices.c1860 in Italianate style. Originally a branch of the London and County Bank. Red brick in English bond with Bath stone dressings. Roof concealed by parapet. 2 tall brick chimneystacks. 3 storeys and basement, 4 windows. Large and elaborate stone cornice with brackets and square floral motifs. 2nd floor has 4 round-headed arched windows with moulded architraves and horns. 1st floor has 4 segmental-headed sashes with cornices above and aprons below with console brackets and vermiculated friezes. Fascia with the lettering "London & County Bank" almost rubbed out and 2 blank panels. Ground floor has 4 round-headed arches with half columns with composite heads, keystones depicting bearded ancients and floral cornice above. 2 central round-headed windows. At each end are 6 fielded panelled doors with decorative iron grilles above. Under the central windows are iron spikes and cambered openings to basement.
