House. Early C18, with earlier timber-framed core. In red brick laid in English Bond; remains of red colouring; a parapet and brick dentil cornice. Tiled roof. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys, attics and cellar. Vertical bands of slightly lighter brick outline the windows. 3 window range, all sashes, 12-pane to the 1st storey and without glazing bars to the ground storey, all in flush cased frames with flat gauged arches. 2 segmental-headed dormers have sliding 2-light small-paned casements. A 4-panel door set in plain reveals has a rectangular fanlight. A 2-storey rear range. INTERIOR: cellar, with a double front wall indicating the line of an underbuilt jetty, has a heavy timber ceiling with widely-spaced unchamfered lodged joists, chamfered main beams, and walling of brick, flint and reused stone. Few features exposed inside: a single main beam with wide chamfer to the front range, and a rear room with a moulded stucco cornice and egg-and-dart ornament. The rear range has narrow late-C17 main beams and some widely spaced studding along the upper north wall. The end bay may be an extension.
