GV II

House, basically early C17, structurally forming part of the rear wing of No.76 (qv) but separately occupied. Part timber-framed, part C19 red brick; weatherboarded along upper storey on north. Slate roof. EXTERIOR: part 2-storey, part 3; cellar. Random fenestration on the south side, several 2-light small-paned early C19 casement windows on the north with pointed Gothic heads. INTERIOR: the small cellar is only partly below ground and has 2 massive reused timber posts used as ceiling beams with attached C20 joists. The rooms above are on different levels and the range has an earlier ground storey and a C18 upper storey, on to which a C19 brick facing was added. C18 wallplates and purlins are associated with apparently later collars. Several early to mid C19 raised grates in the upper rooms.
