GV II

2 houses, now offices on the ground and part of the 1st storeys. Early C19 with earlier core. White brick; slate roofs. EXTERIOR: 3 storeys and cellars. The former No.86, on the left, has a plain parapet with stone cornice. 3 window range: 12-pane sashes in plain reveals with flat gauged arches and stone sills. On the ground storey, glazing-bars to the upper lights only; one window is set into a semicircular arched surround. A 6-panel door in plain reveals has a shallow rectangular fanlight. The former No.87A has a 2 window range: 12-pane sashes in plain reveals with flat gauged arches to the 1st storey and larger windows to the ground storey with glazing-bars in the top sashes only. The 2nd storey is a late C20 addition with slate-hanging above a heavy moulded cornice. 6-panel entrance door on right in a slightly recessed section has a semicircular arched stuccoed surround with plain reveals and a fanlight with intersecting glazing bars. There is no rear access to these premises. INTERIOR: modernised cellar below the north end of the range has heavy chamfered cross-beams with run-off stops. Boxed main beams on the ground storey. Panelled internal shutters to the windows at the south end.
