Details
CHRISTIAN MALFORD MAIN ROAD ST 98 SE (north side) 3/145 Swallett House 21.7.75 II House, early C18, rubble stone with ashlar dressings and hipped stone slate roof. Rear stacks. Two storeys and attic, 3-window range of cyma-moulded recessed mullion windows, 3-light each side, 2-light to centre over door in moulded architrave with pediment on consoles. Flush quoins, moulded plinth, dripcourse and coved eaves cornice. Three-window west front with ashlar ridge stack, one dormer to right, first floor casement pair and two 2-light windows, dripcourse, and ground floor 3-light, door, 2-light and door. Doors have beaded lintels and hoods on brackets, possibly C19. Hipped north end with dormer and coved cornice. East wall of main range has 2-light each floor and attic dormer. Long C19 roughcast north-east wing with original ashlar rear stack on ridge, brick ridge stack and end stack. Three dormers, coved cornice, three first floor casement pairs and lean-to ground floor with stone slates.
