7/32 The Cottage and Holly Tree Cottage GV ll

Row of three estate cottages (the whole row formerly called The Cottage), c1850, probably by J. Thomson for J. Neeld of Grittleton. Square rubble stone with stone slate eaves roof and two ridge stacks, one with original 3 shafts. Two storeys, 3-window range, picturesque cottage style with centre projecting gable and half- hipped eaves dormer gables each side. Stone mullion windows. Dripcourse. Three first floor 2-light windows, centre with hoodmould. Ground floor centre triangular bay with stone slate roof and 2-light windows. Square bays with 3-light windows and hipped roofs each side. Lean-to stone slate porch in angle to left of centre and lean-to porches with half-hipped roofs on each end wall. Three gabled rear wings.
