LACOCK HIGH STREET ST 9168 (north side) 4/101 Manor Farmhouse (formerly listed as 20.12.60 Abbey Farmhouse) GV II

Farmhouse, C16 or earlier and C18 with alterations, rubble stone with stone slate roofs. Two storeys. Central crosswing with principal range to east probably a C18 rebuild on site of hall, and wing to west, C19 service range rebuilt on earlier ground floor. Crosswing has heavy cornerstones, coped gable and saddlestone, upper 16-pane sash and ground floor door with C20 stone slate hood and renewed cross window to right. Massive side-wall stack with chamfered single light window adjoining. Crosswing rear has west side Tudor-arched doorway, now window and early mullion window in rear wall, now concealed by lean-to. Main range to right is rendered with ridge and end stacks. Door in C19 ashlar gabled porch with one-window range of triple casements to left, 2-window range of 12-pane sashes in flush surrounds to right. To rear left a gabled stair tower with 18-pane thick glazing bar sash. To left of crosswing, 3-window, 2-storey range with west end stack and casement windows, C19 upper floor, ground floor stonework earlier. Interior: crosswing has deep chamfered beams to first floor and fine 3-bay windbraced roof with tie-beam and angle-strut trusses.
