CORSHAM MONKS LANE ST 86 NE (west side) 3/273 Congregational Chapel (Formerly listed as Congregational 20.12.60 Church) I

Congregational Chapel, 1662, rubble stone with stone-tiled roof, moulded coping to gables and flush quoins. South front has eyebrow dormer over 5-light stone lunette with 'Keep thy foot when thou goest to the house of thy God Ec 5. 1.' in raised letters. Ground floor has central double doors in flush moulded surround, 2-light recessed ovolo-moulded window each side and continuous hoodmould. Stone sundial over door. North side has 3 similar 2-light windows under single hoodmould, one light of centre window blocked and slightly off-centre 2-light above under eaves. East end wall has upper 2-light window and hoodmould. Interior: outstanding complete interior with closely spaced panelled pews, galleries on 3 sides and high panelled pulpit. Plastered roof and painted text, Psalm 92 v.l, above lunette.
