Details
STOCKTON HIGH STREET ST 93 NE (south side) 7/137 No 25 (Farley's Cottage) (formerly listed as Cottage No 25) 11.9.68 GV II Two cottages, now one house. Late C17 and C18. Square-panelled timber-frame on rubble stone plinth, painted brick nogging, half- hipped thatched roof with brick stack to gable end of timber-framed range. Two-bay timber-frame extended to west in rubble stone. Single-storey and attic, 2-window. Two planked doors and three 2- light casements to ground floor, two eyebrow dormers with 2-light casements to attic, eaves of right hand build raised C20. Right return has 2-light C20 casements and planked door, left return has C20 casements. Rear lean-to extension. Interior has large open fireplace with cambered chamfered lintel on stone jambs, chamfered beams with jewel stops to ground floor. Planked doors or 4-panelled C19 doors. Cross frame and rear timber-framed wall exposed to first floor, chamfered beams with runout stops to first floor.
