2. C18 house, altered in the C19. 2 storeys. Ashlar front. Stone tiled roof. Parapets to gable-ends with 1 chimney to left, and chimney and ball-finial to right. Moulded cornice and plain parapet to the front. Plain flanking pilasters rising through the parapet to moulded finials. String course. 4 windows on first floor. Sashes in moulded reveals, no glazing bars. 3 Victorian windows with elliptical heads on ground floor. 3-lights each with stone mullions and transoms and moulded architrave surrounds. Centre window has segmental framing arch with pilasters and keystone. A 3-storey 1 window extension to left with doorway recessed under a round-headed arch.
No 198 forms a group with Christ Church, Mount Pleasant.
