TYSOE BADGER's END LANE SP34MW (West side) Lower Tysoe 4/76 Badger's Farmhouse

GV II

Farmhouse. Late C17, possibly of two building periods. Coursed ironstone rubble with corrugated iron roof over thatch. C19 brick ridge and end stacks. 2 storeys. 3-window range. 3-unit through-passage plan. To centre right a C17 plank door with iron fittings with plain wood surround, and wood lintel. To right of door a 3-light mullioned window with flat splays, hood mould and label stops. Above door a C19 three-light casement. To left of ground and first floor C20 casements. To right end a 4-light stone mullioned window and 2-light stone mullioned window above, both with hood moulds and label stops. 2 further hood moulds to rear, the openings now containing C20 door and window. Blocked door opening to centre left of rear facade, the wood lintel remaining. Interior: 2 blocked open fireplaces, the bressumers chamfered, with stepped and ogee stops. Chamfered spine beans with broach and stepped stops. Said to have original roof timbers.
